Liz Dieleman started singing as a child in Holland, Michigan, performing in church with her mother, Virginia, and her father, Dale Alan, who has produced two albums of his own music, both on which Liz appears. Liz continued to sing and perform through her school years in leading theatrical stage performances and honors choirs including a European tour and placement in Michigan’s State Honors choir. She received her first guitar as a high school graduation gift and immediately taught herself to play and began writing songs. She performed through college at school events and local coffeeshops and bars.

In 2004, Liz moved to Philadelphia to gain more exposure. Throughout the past 2 years, she has performed in local bars, and was showcased on the Gene Shay folk radio show on WXPN in November of 2005. In the summer of 2006, Liz joined Philly band, Music For Headphones as lead vocalist and keyboardist.

In January 2007, Liz heads back to Michigan to take some time away from the city and prepare for grad school and other large endeavors which stand before her in the distance. While living in Holland, Liz also plans to continue to play around local establishments, and of course, we expect to hear some great new material produced from such a reputable town.

CDs available: “the old apartment demo” has eight original songs recorded in a studio in Michigan, her apartment in Philadelphia, and a live track from the Gene Shay folk show.

a note from liz:
“Dearest friends, Thank you for taking an interest in my work. My songs are very personal, yet I gladly share them because I know that EVERY soul experiences what I do. Perhaps there are some out there who cannot find the means to express what they are feeling – even to themselves! My music is an attempt to help others find the source of the shadows on their walls, the blower behind the winds that rustle their hair in solitary autumn evenings. I am just a vessel: I was given the voice, the words, and the musical ear to impliment them. I sing and write because I have no choice. It is my true Vocation – inner-voice – and, as Paul Simon once stated, who am I to blow against the wind? I fully embrace all that I have. And I ask you to embrace with me, for if I were alone on this planet, I would have no one to sing about or sing to. PEACE, Liz*”
